Alexei Waichenberg

Alexei Waichenberg is a journalist and screenwriter with extensive experience in the audiovisual field. He worked at TVE and Rádio MEC (1984–1996) as a producer and writer of music programs. He founded the production company Market Share (1996–2007), delivering over 100 corporate videos for SEBRAE/RJ and FIRJAN. He created and directed TV MERCOSUL, the largest channel on the continent at the time.

In 2017, he collaborated on the script, produced, and directed segments of the feature film “You Only Live Once” and also contributed to the film “Rogéria – Senhor Astolfo Barroso Pinto.”

In Portugal, he founded Tropical Hub, hosted FESTin, and carried out audiovisual curatorships.

He produced the short film “JAZ” (2024), awarded an Honorable Mention at FESTin 2025, and the short film “Erosion” (2025), currently in post-production.

He also took part as a filmmaker at the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival and conceived and coordinated showcases and cultural forums focused on cinema and contemporary media
